Last night my mom & I attended the book signing for The Pioneer Woman's new cookbook The Pioneer Woman Cooks. Never having been to a book signing in my life, I had no idea what to expect. Oh my gosh...there were people everywhere! We were at about the middle of the line, & it took around 4 1/2 hours to finally get to meet Ree. Let me just tell you...it was completely worth it! We got to meet some great people while we stood in line, & Ree was so sweet & gracious. You could tell she really enjoyed getting to meet all of her fans. We even got to meet MM & the punks, & let me just tell you they were all so wonderful!
I can't wait to get started cooking the recipes from the book. I highly recommend going out & buying one...immediately!
I would definitely say that I had a great time, & I would do it all over again!!

Ashley's Monthly Bake Sale - September
Wow it's been a while since I've posted about my cupcake of the month. I've been doing them, just haven't been taking pictures & posting. Shame shame. September's cupcake was one of my favorite combinations...chocolate & peanut butter. Ohhh yeah! I found this recipe from Beantown Baker that looked amazing. I have never made filled cupcakes before, so this was a first for me. Boy have I been missing out! Filled cupcakes are so easy to do...I definitely need to make more. These cupcakes were amazing, but oh so rich. Oh but with a glass of milk they're even better! They were a complete success, & the girls loved them!

TWD - Allspice Crumb Muffins
This week's TWD recipe was chosen by Kayte of Grandma's Kitchen Table, & Kayte chose Dorie's Allspice Crumb Muffins. I love muffins because they're so easy to throw together...no mixer, just a couple of bowls & whisk & you're good to go! I've got a lovely cold right now thanks to a flight I took last week, but I was really looking forward to baking these. Illness be damned!
I don't have allspice in the house but figured out that I could combine cinnamon & cloves to get the same flavor. These little puppies were so yummy! Perfect for the yucky rainy weather we've been having lately. I'm definitely going to be making these again only I'd like to add apples to the recipe. Now how delicious does that sound? Ohhh yeah!
